Expoquimia, the International Meeting Point for the Chemical Industry, and the Spanish Association of Purchasing, Contracting and Procurement Professionals (AERCE) have signed an agreement to promote among its members a greater knowledge of the companies, processes and chemical products, directly responsible for the manufacture and supply of raw materials and essential components for different industries.
The partnership agreement, signed by the President of AERCE, Cristian Lienas, and the Director of Expoquimia, Xavier Pascual, includes promotional activities, as well as training and networking sessions for the world of Purchasing within the framework of the international meeting point for the chemical industry in Spain, which will take place from 30 May to 2 June at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via Venue. One of the highlights will be Procurement Day Catalunya 2023, and annual event organised by the association that will bring together professionals from the Purchasing function, including numerous executives from companies in different production industries to discuss current issues of relevance to the Purchasing sector, and that will focus in the chemical and pharma industries.
The Director of Expoquimia, Xavier Pascual, claims that the agreement “will allow Purchasing professionals to know first-hand the commercial offer of the chemical sector, adapt processes and materials to sustainability requirements, in addition to contacting new suppliers”.
For his part, the President of AERCE, Cristian Lienas, assures that “in a moment of profound transformation in which industry moves towards the circular economy and more efficient production models, Expoquimia provides an opportunity for our associates to learn about innovative products, technologies and processes that, beyond strengthening their commitment to sustainability, will help them to optimise costs, manage risk and contribute to the commercial margin of their companies, thereby improving their competitiveness.”
With the claim ‘Connecting Industry, Society and Sustainability’, Expoquimia will gather in its 20th edition a large sample of chemical industry companies, an essential sector that participates transversely in the development of new products and that accounts for 13.8% of industrial GDP in Spain. Will be hosted simultaneously with Equiplast, the Meeting Point for the Plastic and Rubber Industry, adding both events more than 450 direct exhibitors and 800 brands represented.
Under the agreement between Expoquimia and AERCE, all professional members of the association will have free access to the chemical fair, in addition to its conferences and activities and, with the same pass, will be able to visit Equiplast and contact companies and suppliers in the plastics sector.
